Day 3: Rozhen Monastery

After spending a night in the Rila Mountains, we spent the next two nights in a town called Melnik, but I'll tell you more about it in my next post.
Today I will show you pictures of our third day, during which we visited Rozhen Monastery, located 6 km from Melnik. The Rozhen Monastery with a name "the Nativity of the Mother of God" was built by the Melnik ruler despot Slav during 12th or 13th century and is the only monastery restored in the first centuries of Ottoman rule that has survived to this day. More information about this unique place you can find here and here.
The place is very beautiful, very quiet and secluded, so I decided to wear a simple navy blue dress, which I combined with leopard flats and beige bag. Nothing too fancy or pretentious for the sacred sanctuary, but still suitable for the 40-degree heat outside.
